July 30th, 2008
Move highlights integration of division and ability to leverage capabilities across corporation in providing full range of plastics molding solutions to its Fortune 500 Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customer base.
WAUSAUKEE, WISCONSIN – Wausaukee Composites, Inc. announced today that it has changed the name of its recently acquired subsidiary Nero Plastics, Inc. of Owosso, Michigan to Wausaukee Composites, Inc. - Owosso Division.
The decision to re-brand Nero Plastics as Wausaukee Composites, Inc. - Owosso Division has been made to emphasize the integration of the Division into Wausaukee Composites, and to fully realize the potential synergies between the operations. "Pursuing a unified operating structure, we saw value in maintaining a single brand in the marketplace and the ability to clearly articulate the full range of structural plastics molding solutions we are able to provide to our combined Global Fortune 500 customer base," said Kevin Hughes, Vice President, Wausaukee Composites, Owosso Division. "This change represents our combined strength and ability to leverage resources as we match the best composite solutions to the customer application."
Nero Plastics was acquired by Wausaukee Composites in November, 2007 in a strategic acquisition to accelerate Wausaukee Composites' growth in the North American structural plastics marketplace. David Lisle, President and CEO of Wausaukee Composites, stated at the time, "We are continuing to expand our manufacturing operations in North America, in order to meet increased customer demand in our low to medium-volume, highly-engineered, custom molded product segments." Lisle further commented, "The combination of Wausaukee Composites and Nero Plastics will be highly complementary. Nero Plastics brings additional capacity with respect to our core composites molding capabilities, and also provides additional competitive strength in some molding processes where Wausaukee Composites has limited experience."
Wausaukee Composites, Inc. - Owosso Division serves original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the heavy equipment, mining, heavy truck, mass transit, medical, and sporting goods industries. The Division has approximately 180 employees in two facilities in Michigan.
"The change will not affect any staff, products, services, or other matters in our division," said Kevin Hughes. "Adopting the Wausaukee Composites nameplate reinforces our plan to add new customers and jobs over the coming years."
